Select Medical's Outpatient team is seeking a Medical Records Representative. Our team ensures that medical records are transmitted electronically or printed in a timely basis.
Responsibilities
- Resolve patient and requestor inquiries. Forwarding the inquiries to management when necessary and appropriate.
- Identify patient in multiple systems and validate HIPAA compliance of request.
- Retrieve and compile records as requested and allowed by guidelines.
- Comprehend state and federal privacy laws and state statutes in regards to billing for medical records and invoicing accordingly after all requested documentation is compiled.
- Document the medical records system concerning all verbal and written communication relative to the specific patient accounts.
- Assist and supporting other departments and appropriate staff members as needed to successfully resolve medical record requests.
- Provide feedback to the appropriate CBO staff when informed of changes in reimbursement rates, state laws/requirements, or other vital account billing information.
- Research and collection of past due payments on Medical Records requests.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma of Equivalent
Preferred:
- 6 months of work experience
- Computer Skills
- Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work from multiple programs with dual monitors
- A detail oriented individual
- Able to work closely with others in a team setting
- Ability to analyze and resolve problems
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to manage time effectively to meet set deadlines
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail
