Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in providing therapeutic interventions for students with physical, developmental, or sensory challenges.
- Implement individualized treatment plans and assist with assessments.
- Work with students to improve their fine motor skills, daily living activities, and overall mobility.
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to support the student’s progress and development.
- Document and report on students' progress, maintaining accurate records of therapy sessions and outcomes.
- Educate school staff and parents on strategies to promote students' independence and success in the classroom.
Qualifications:
- Active Virginia Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) License is required.
- Previous experience working with students or pediatric populations is preferred.
- Strong understanding of therapy techniques, equipment, and strategies to improve students' motor and functional abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, occupational therapists, and other staff.
- Passion for supporting students' development and making a positive impact on their educational experience.
