Key Responsibilities
- Handle complex design assignments across multiple projects, developing innovative solutions.
- Assist in creating project scopes, schedules, and budgets, ensuring execution aligns with project plans.
- Provide oversight and review of junior designers' work, delivering thorough redlines and feedback.
- Develops conduit and cable tray layouts, conduit and cable schedules, performs conduit and cable tray fill calculations, and generates cable and wire interconnection reports
- Creates drawings for Electrical enclosures, equipment, instruments, and installations details
- Comprehend and modify the electrical and automation portion of P&IDs under engineering supervision
- Create Hazardous area classification drawings.
- Plans Electrical details and standards required for projects.
- Performs site visits to create sketches, red lines, and gather field information for design and as-built purposes.
- Performs design coordination, drawing reviews, and creating mark ups for designers and drafters
- Expertly use AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical to develop detailed electrical designs - single power diagrams, schematics, interconnect diagrams, panel layouts and bill of materials.
- Integrate client engineering standards into designs without engineering assistance.
- Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards, including:
- NEC 409
- UL508A
- NFPA 70
- NEC 240, 250, 392
- API RP 500
- NEC - Chapter 3
- Understand the operations of pipeline stations and truck loading facilities, identifying major electrical components and explaining their interaction with mechanical systems
- Associates degree in drafting/design or Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
- 6 plus years of experience with oil and gas projects. Will need a strong familiarity with pipeline stations, truck loading facilities and their electrical systems.
- Advanced AutoCAD Electrical Experience
- Strong understanding of NEC 409 and UL 508A standards
- Ability to review and refine junior designer’s work
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision
