We are seeking a Plumbing Drafter to support drafting and coordination of plumbing and fire protection systems for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects across the U.S. These drawings are used for BIM coordination, pre-fabrication, and installation. This is a full-time, on-site position with no travel required.

We are seeking a Plumbing Drafter to support drafting and coordination of plumbing and fire protection systems for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects across the U.S. These drawings are used for BIM coordination, pre-fabrication, and installation. This is a full-time, on-site position with no travel required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft plumbing systems including water supply, waste and vent, stormwater drainage, and gas piping using AutoCAD (Revit/BIM experience preferred).
- Design mechanical room layouts, underground pipe routing, roof drains, vent risers, hot water recirculation, and storm/sanitary tie-ins.
- Interpret and apply mechanical and plumbing codes (e.g., IPC, NFPA 99) to ensure code-compliant system design.
- Generate isometric and riser diagrams, plumbing schedules, legends, and technical notes.
- Coordinate with engineers, architects, and contractors for clash detection and field coordination.
- Prepare drawings with inverts, elevations, pipe sizing, and proper annotation for installation and prefabrication.
- Participate in review and QA of drawings to maintain accuracy and project standards.
- Support construction administration with occasional site verification (optional).
- Mentor or oversee junior drafters and design support staff as needed.
- 5 years of experience in plumbing systems design and drafting.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit or BIM coordination experience is a strong plus.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, fixtures, valves, drainage systems, gas piping, and mechanical room layouts.
- Familiarity with relevant codes such as IPC and fire protection standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents and schematics.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; team collaboration is essential.
- Plumbing Systems Design Certificate from ASPE or an equivalent organization.
- Experience working in MEP, architectural/engineering, or specialty contractor environments.
- Exposure to mechanical piping, fire protection, or sheet metal drafting is a plus.
