Selectek has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Engineering to join an established firm looking for an experienced leader. Reporting directly to the President, the Director of Engineering will oversee a diverse team responsible for drafting, fabrication detailing, quality control, and engineering. This position offers the opportunity to drive innovation, improve processes, and deliver exceptional results on a robust project portfolio.Leadership and Strategy : Collaborate with the senior leadership team to develop and execute organizational strategies, including annual planning and improvement initiatives.Serve as a member of the leadership team, participating in weekly discussions to address priorities, challenges, and strategic opportunities.Team Management : Lead and mentor a team of 26 professionals, including drafting personnel, detailers, engineers, and quality control staff.Oversee staffing, performance evaluations, pay adjustments, and discretionary bonus recommendations.Assign resources and set priorities to maximize department efficiency and project success.Project Execution : Ensure successful engineering execution for an annual workload of ~$35-$50M across 210-250 projects.Participate in project handoff meetings, Value Engineering sessions, and cross-departmental coordination to achieve project goals.Maintain progress metrics and manage job setups.Technology and Process Management : Oversee and manage department tools, including Autodesk products (ACAD, Inventor, Vault, Revit), Bluebeam, and structural analysis software (STAAD, Visual Analysis, Dlubal).Support the integration of CNC file preparation for shop use and adoption of new technologies.Drive process improvements and innovation initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality.Administrative Duties : Process weekly timesheets, expense reports, and subcontractor invoices.Manage software licenses and ensure team members have the resources needed for success.Required : 10 years of proven engineering leadership experience managing teams and driving organizational success.Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing or equivalent process improvement credentialsExperience coordinating complex workflows and collaborating across departmentsPreferred : Engineering DegreePESponsorship : No, must be U.S. Citizen or Green Card holderPay Range : $130,000 - $210,000 annual salary (depending on experience)Pay Method When Direct : Salary no OT PayHours & Shift : 8-hour day Start between 7-8pmWork From Home : No, they like their team to be in the office.Working Remote : NoOvertime Expected : As neededTravel : Minimal, occasional visits to the field would be possibleWork Attire : Jeans and Golf / polo shirt / blouse.
