Job Summary:
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for managing warehouse operations, inventory control, and shipping & receiving within a manufacturing environment. This role ensures a smooth flow of materials to meet production demands while leading a team to drive efficiency, cost control, and process improvements. The manager collaborates with production, procurement, and quality control to meet business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse & Material Flow:
Oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient storage, organization, and material movement.
Implement lean manufacturing principles and safety protocols.
Monitor warehouse KPIs for continuous improvement.
Inventory & Materials Planning:
Maintain accurate inventory levels and align material availability with production needs.
Conduct regular audits and implement strategies to reduce waste and excess stock.
Shipping & Receiving:
Supervise inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
Manage carrier relationships and oversee shipping documentation.
Leadership & Team Development:
Lead a team of specialists, material handlers, and a shipping & receiving leader.
Set goals, provide training, and foster a culture of accountability and improvement.
Process Improvement & Cost Optimization:
Identify opportunities for waste reduction and process optimization.
Use lean manufacturing and data analytics to drive cost reductions.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
Experience:
5 years of supply chain management experience in a manufacturing environment.
Skills:
Proficiency with ERP, MRP, WMS, and logistics software.
Experience in lean manufacturing, 5S, and inventory control practices.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and regulatory requirements.
