TITLE: Autistic Support Teacher – Elementary
REPORTS TO AND IS EVALUATED BY: Building Principal
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full-time bargaining unit position – 10-month work year; FLSA Exempt.
ANTICIPATED START DATE: 2025-2026 School Year
HOURS: 8:05-3:35
LOCATION: Sellersville Elementary
COMPENSATION: In accordance with PEA Collective Bargaining Agreement
PRINCIPLE FUNCTION: The elementary autistic support teacher is responsible for writing, implementing and monitoring progress of IEP’s, including behavior goals, for students with learning and/or emotional disabilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create and execute Individualized Education Plans (IEP) for students on casload.
- Assist with effective implementation of IEPs of identified children.
- Implement and monitor goals on IEPs.
- Work cooperatively with the principal, subject supervisors and other staff members to develop an integrated educational program for children.
- Work collaboratively with classrom staff and other team members.
- Have daily plans readily available for the use of a substitute in the event of absence.
- Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the building principal/special education supervisor.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Bachelor’s degree; Pennsylvania Teacher Certification – Special Education
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- PA State Police Clearance (Act 34) – Dated within one year
- Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151) ) – Dated within one year
- FBI Fingerprint Clearance (Act 114) ) – Dated within one year
- School Personnel Health Form (Physical and TB test)
- PDE 6004 Form (Act 24)
- Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release Form(s) (Act 168)
