POSITION TITLE: Child Nutrition Program Associate (Worker)
REPORTS TO: Child Nutrition Program Manager/School Principal
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent and valid food handler's card/ServSafe certification, and good physical health.
SALARY: To be determined commensurate with local salary schedule, credentials, and experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintains high standards of control for quality food production and service.
- Follows operational procedures for efficient and effective food production and service,
- Maintains an environment conducive to protecting the health and well-being of the school's children through high levels of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Maintains quality standards for the preparation, presentation and service of food in a pleasant environment.
- Maintains integrity and accountability of the school nutrition program through compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Ensures compliance with school/district policies and procedures.
- Exercise proper use and care of all equipment.
- Performs all duties and responsibilities in an ethical and professional manner.
- Communicates effectively with CNP associates, CNP manager, CNP director, and other school employees.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Prepares food, maintains food storage, and sets up the serving line for breakfast and lunch meals.
- Cleans the furnishings (counters, equipment, tables, etc) in the kitchen and dining areas.
- Washes cooking utensils, dishes, and equipment for sanitation.
- Mops, strips, and waxes the floor in the cafeteria area.
- Removes garbage from the kitchen and dining area,
- Capability of lifting heavy objects (up to 40 lbs.) and transferring extremely hot pans.
- Capability of standing for long periods of time in the kitchen environment during food preparation.
- Performs other duties as required.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: In accordance to the Board approved salary schedule.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance to the Selma City Schools evaluation of classified staff.
