What are the responsibilities and job description for the Circulation Supervisor position at Seminole County/Board of County Commissioners?
Responsible for the high quality of customer service by coordinating the daily operation of the Circulation Section at the Library. Oversees, supervises and directs staff and workflow of the circulation unit. Responsible for the maintenance of the library collection, reception of new materials, periodicals and assisting librarians in their duties as needed. Initiates action to resolve problems and complaints of library patrons regarding fines, fees, registration, lost and damaged materials. Provides assistance at the circulation desk in issuing and receiving materials. Obtains supplies for daily library use, and maintains supply inventory and equipment including copier, computer terminals. Provides information or direction and referrals to children and adult customers.
**Salary will be determined depending on qualifications of candidates who exceed the minimum requirements as outlined within the job description.

Implements and enforces circulation policies and procedures.
Provides training and coaching of Circulation and Page Staff to include technical guidance, and on the job training.
Prepares work schedules for Circulation and Page Staff.
Interviews, and recommends for approval by the Division Manager, with final approval by the Department Director, hiring, termination, etc.
Prepares performance evaluations, disciplinary reports, and commendable action forms for approval by the Division Manager, with final approval by the Department Director.
Resolves or initiates action to resolve problems and complaints of library patrons.
Maintains statistical records and prepares reports as required as requested.
Maintains effective working relationships with department management team and subordinate personnel.
May recruit, coordinate and maintain records of volunteers.
May provide general reference assistance and information service.

Bachelor's degree and three (3) years experience are required, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
Skill in multi-tasking at any given time at the circulation desk.
Skill in the use of Library automated equipment and cataloging system.
Ability to operate standard office and library equipment.
Knowledge in the operation of a personal computer and the handling of cash transactions.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to plan, supervise and motivate fellow team members. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with management and subordinate staff.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form. Ability to work independently in carrying out assignments to completion.
Knowledge of high quality customer service.
