What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Coordinator position at Seminole County/Board of County Commissioners?
Independently performs work to assist the Public Works Director/County Engineer, Deputy Public Works Director/Deputy County Engineer and the entire Engineering Division in managing, documenting and overseeing the administrative activities, operations and processes for the Division. Provides administrative and secretarial work in support of high-level management officials.
**Salary will be determined depending on qualifications of candidates who exceed the minimum requirements as outlined within the job description.

- Reviews and verifies division's payroll registers and other fiscal documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Submits paperwork for actions concerning division personnel and positions (notice of selections, position change forms, salary change forms, etc.).
- Prepares correspondence and other documents necessary to support the County Engineer and Deputy County Engineer.
- Answers phone and responds to inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
- Provides customer service effectively and efficiently through use of techniques focusing proactive service adding value to each call.
- Acts as a liaison on behalf of the customer with other departments to resolve concerns and problems to the best of their ability.
- Strives to resolve the problem on the first call, with a minimum of transfers by consistently improving personal technical knowledge and understanding. Provides follow up with customers to ensure that satisfaction and proper resolution of request.
- Composes, types, proofs, and generates reports and forms; schedules meetings; prepares and distributes materials; maintains records as needed; and summarizes minutes of meetings in a timely fashion.
- Researches and assembles materials from files and records for preparing reports, special projects, answering correspondence and inquiries.
- Develops and maintains records, reports, files and logs.
- Coordinates and/or schedules meetings, conferences and appointments for Deputy Public Works Director/Deputy County Engineer, as well as other managers within the division; assures timely signature of appropriate documents.
- May prepare invoices for payment.
- May be responsible for entering agenda items for Division and/or tracks items for the Engineering Division to ensure timely submission for approval and distribution.
- May coordinate and oversee specific programs within the Division as assigned by the Public Works Director/County Engineer and/or Deputy Public Works Director/Deputy County Engineer.
- Recommends and implements administrative business processes and procedures.
- Tracks outstanding documents such as ordinances, Construction/Development/Inspection Orders and Agreements.
Additional Duties:
Performs other related work as required.
In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties.
High school diploma or GED and two (2) years experience with extensive public contact and/or administrative responsibilities is required.
A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
Good knowledge of Business English, spelling, punctuation, and modern office practices and procedures, including record keeping methods.
Must be able to compose effective and accurate correspondence along with ability to meet and work effectively with internal and external customers.
Must be able to communicate and direct well orally and in writing.
Knowledge of personal computer and general office equipment such as fax, copier, 10 key calculator, and printers is requested.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Drivers License.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and other related software is required to maintain productivity.
All employees must attend Seminole County Required Trainings.
Department Specific trainings per position may be required.
Salary : $40,841 - $53,093
