Description
Skilled operation of heavy equipment and/or trucks such as road tractors, bull dozers, landfill compactors, excavators, off-road dump trucks and front end loaders utilized in the proper transfer, hauling and disposal of solid waste.
**Salary will be determined depending on qualifications of candidates who exceed the minimum requirements as outlined within the job description.
**Additional compensation based on licensure.
Essential Functions

Perform daily pre/post trip inspections on equipment and vehicles, keep accurate documentation.
Adhere to the County/Division attendance policy.
Uses road tractors and/or off-road equipment as assigned.
Hauls walking floor trailers, on or off-road, for transportation of solid waste.
Uses heavy equipment to process or dispose of solid waste at a transfer station or Class I landfill.
Perform job duties in a safe and productive manner.
Completes daily logs.
Keep equipment and vehicles clean and orderly.
Additional Duties:
Performs other related work as required.
In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED and two (2) years experience required; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
Must maintain Florida Class A Commercial Driver's License.
A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
Additional Requirements
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to learn how to operate heavy equipment to include, excavator, bull dozer, front-end-loader and other similar equipment used by the Division.
Required to maintain a valid Florida Driver's License.
All employees must attend Seminole County required trainings. Department specific trainings per position may be required.
