The part-time Computer Support Specialist provides phone Help Desk support. Resolves hardware and software technical support issues. Manages installation of computer equipment and maintains the CTS inventory database. Develops and maintains documentation of the configuration of non-standard software. Assists with computer workstation and peripheral needs.

Pay Benefits And Work Schedule
$20.38 Hourly up to 25 hours per week*. This role will primarily be based at the Altamonte Springs campus, with occasional shifts at the Sanford/Lake Mary campus as needed.
Finalists and individuals recommended for employment at Seminole State College must reside in the State of Florida at the time of hire and may be subject to background investigations and fingerprinting in compliance with Florida Statute 1001.64; and Seminole State College Policy 1.020; 2.020. Criminal background checks and fingerprinting will be conducted for all new employees, and for rehired employees who have had a break in service for one year or more. The Office of Human Resources will determine which background checks shall be conducted for each position, based upon its review of job descriptions and the responsibilities of the position. These include, but are not limited to, positions that have access to money, master keys, security-sensitive areas and confidential information; positions that have the capability to create, delete, and alter records; and positions that are responsible for the care and instruction of children. The College will conduct various types of background checks which may include, but are not limited to: criminal background, credit check, driver's license check, previous employment and references.

Essential Functions
- Answers College-related technical support phone calls, e-mails, and text messages from students and employees.
- Resolves hardware and software technical support issues which includes troubleshooting, diagnostics, and contacting manufacturers’ technical support centers, researching resolutions, and resolution follow up.
- Manages the installation and de-installation of computer equipment and maintains the CTS inventory database.
- Develops and maintains detailed documentation of the configuration of non-standard software and the installation procedures.
- Assists faculty and staff with computer workstation and peripheral needs.
- Manages and maintains operating system critical and security patches for all computer workstations.
- Provides on-site backup support for remote campuses within Seminole County.
- Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.
- Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
- One year of professional experience installing computer hardware and software.
- Ability to install computer hardware and software.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work in a team-based environment.
- Ability to communicate with administration, faculty, students, and support personnel in a technical and non-technical manner.

- May work outside of normal business hours to complete installations and support services.
- Acceptable hearing and eyesight with or without correction.
- Ability to lift and un-box desktop computer systems.
- Ability to use flatbed/carts with full load of computes to move about campus.
- Ability to see all colors and differentiate between the colors used in network/telecommunication cabling.
- Ability to climb ladders to work overhead, and bend down to work on equipment installed in the floor.
- Ability to work in tight spaces while maintaining equipment.
