Semmes, Bowen & Semmes has an immediate opening in our McLean office for a Paralegal/Legal Assistant with experience in workers' compensation and insurance defense.
We offer the opportunity for hybrid/remote work; however, this candidate will need to be available in the office most days of the week Monday through Friday.
Semmes is a paperless office environment.
Compensation: $50,000 to $80,000 annually including bonus

Responsibilities and Qualifications:
- Requirements include at least at least 2 years of workers' compensation experience
- Excellent communication and software skills (i.e., Word, Outlook, e-filing, etc.)
- Must possess excellent critical thinking and organizational skills
- Track billable time on a daily basis
- Prepare legal documents and general correspondence; draft standard correspondence; proofread, edit, and format documents
- Prepare paper court filings and electronic filings
- Organize, file, and manage electronic and paper documents, exhibits, pleading bibles, trial binders and closing bibles
- Organize and submit documents for timely entry into the firm’s docket system
- Manage and coordinate attorney calendars, scheduling, and travel plans
- Request /organize and summarize medical records.
- Draft motions and answer interrogatories.
- Extensive client contact must possess excellent verbal and written skills.
