The position fosters strong relationships with suppliers and service providers to drive quality and ensure certainty of outcome.
This position has oversight in both the United States and Mexico with an expected travel frequency of 35%.
Duties and Responsibilities

The position fosters strong relationships with suppliers and service providers to drive quality and ensure certainty of outcome.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and oversee a diverse shared services team of procurement professionals located in Houston, San Diego and Mexico City, ensuring effective collaboration and performance to support business objectives.
- Enhance and continuously improve the functionality, efficiency and value-add of the shared services team while measuring these parameters through the creation of pertinent key performance indicators and clear reporting. It is also imperative for this role to understand the voice of the customer and delineating clear key buying factors.
- Serve as the procurement subject matter expert to address business needs according to best-in-class sourcing strategies and methodologies.
- Mentor and provide guidance to the shared services team members to develop and increase their commercial skills and abilities in the procurement and contracting lifecycle process (pre and post award).
- Lead complex RFx events and negotiations to execute major agreements while managing and mitigating contractual risk by leveraging key functional areas where appropriate (Legal, Insurance, Cyber, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures while maintain a high-level of ethical behaviors.
- Establish a robust relationship management program conducive of effective strategic relationships with key stakeholders and service providers while also understanding, anticipating, and responding to their business needs, objectives, and challenges.
- Perform other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance or equivalent required. Master's degree preferred.
- 8 years of previous and proven experience in the procurement of indirect spend with extensive complex contract formation, negotiation and execution experience required.
- Experience leading multinational/multicultural teams preferred.
- Ability to influence and form strong partnerships with multiple stakeholders to create optimal strategic procurement approaches, contracts and solutions.
- Ability to advise and interact with all levels of management.
- Ability to drive and achieve results through others by providing direction, opportunity, competence, and motivation.
- Leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop the shared services teams.
- Knowledge of different indirect spend categories and the utilization of different contractual arrangements.
- Strong commercial acumen to effectively analyze cost data and trends required to develop long-term replacement strategies.
- Ability to work effectively in team setting and support change management within organization.
- Good presentation skills.
- Self-starter with interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge with Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Excel, Word, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.) and collaborative tools.
- Bilingual - English/Spanish preferred.
- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) preferred.

- Certified Professional in Supply Diversity (CPSD) preferred.
