Primary Purpose:
Coordinate, negotiate, and manage customer notifications for electrical planned outages from Construction Services and C&O Districts for the entire SDG&E service territory. Act as the liaison to Construction Supervisors, Contract Administrators, Planned Outage Specialist – Marketing Coordinator, Project Coordinators, Account Executives, Customer Contact Center, Claims Department and Public Affairs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify impacted customers using SP4, NMS and OMS (Outage Management System) and notify customers of planned outage using our automated notification system. Negotiate with unassigned residential and small commercial customers to determine the best date and time to schedule power interruptions to minimize the impact to their business operation. Follow-up to ensure that customer issues have been resolved prior to a planned outage and works with Project Management to verify permits and traffic control plans are in place.
- Compile, prepare and distribute various reports and related documents for Management, Public Affairs, and Claims. Research unplanned outage information and communicates with internal or external customers. Participate in depositions and court appearances in regard to past or future planned outages. Document outage coordination operating procedures and make updates when appropriate; work with other departments to streamline operations and resolve outage coordination issues. Prepare customer list in Excel to export outbound dialer campaigns for cancellation and reminder calls.
- Participate in After-Hours On-Call duty rotation to manage Planned Outage activities such as cancellations, delayed starts or customer issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
