Job Summary:
The Technical Director is a key leadership role for a seasoned semiconductor professional with demonstrated leadership and multi-dimensional technical experience. This role drives key technical initiatives such as evangelizing core technologies at specific customers or within specific vertical segments. It will drive the creation of a solid pull from customers for new products and technologies. Additionally, this role will ensure that the full kit of solutions from the BU is adequately understood by the field sales and Field Applications Engineering (FAE) teams and will drive the dissemination and replication of success stories in the field teams.
The success of this function will be measured through the achievement of success criteria of technical and training initiatives. The second success metric will be identifying alpha customers for the new products and technologies and establishing specific plans to secure opportunities and design wins for these customers. Lastly, the success will also be measured by ascertaining satisfaction levels achieved by key stakeholders and sales leadership entrusted with the rapidly proliferating success of our design wins. The successful candidate will have strong technical and sales leadership and proven new business creation skills, be an excellent communicator, have impeccable customer relationships and relationship-building skills, and bring a culture of “getting things done, no matter what.” This executive will be a key consultative resource for the BU GM and the marketing teams.
Responsibilities:
- Own and drive specific customer and vertical segment penetration initiatives as the BU GM defines. 20%
- Drive the creation of a solid pull from customers for new products and technologies. 20%
- Serve as the lead in ensuring we have a successful replication program and drive this program into Sales and FAE teams. 20%
- Owns the training programs for Sales and FAE teams. 20%

Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline; a graduate degree is highly preferred.
- 15 years of relevant industry/functional experience
- Demonstrated experience in hiring and leading teams – sales, technical sales, and FAEs
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, consultative, and team-building skills, along with the ability to work effectively in a matrix environment
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to proactively solve issues
- Effective verbal and written communication to interface at all levels within the organization
- Strong sense of urgency to meet expectations of rapid business growth

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $139,000 - $257,400. There are several factors taken into consideration in determining base salary, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, skills, education and experience, as well as job location and the value of other elements of an employee’s total compensation package.
