Duties Description
New York State Senator Rob Ortt is seeking a Communications Coordinator to join his team at his district office in Lockport. The Communications Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing communications strategy on behalf of the Senator. The coordinator will work with district and Albany staff to formulate communications strategy using digital, social media, and all available outreach tools.
Essential Functions

- Craft messages and create narrative consistent with the Senator’s messaging;
- Identify opportunities to cultivate media and community coverage;
- Write social media, press, and outreach content;
- Organize and assist with press conferences and special events;
- Assist in the development, writing, editing, and distribution of internal and external communications materials as necessary;
- Bolster constituent outreach through web-targeting, direct mail, digital; and other appropriate outreach tools;
- Rapidly develop content from relevant topics and advance into social content;
- Monitor and report movement surrounding trending topics that pertain to our key messaging;

Salary range of $42,500 to $52,500. Compensation will be determined by educational experience and professional experience.
