Senders Pediatrics, an independent pediatric practice, is currently seeking a dynamic, hard-working, experienced patient service representative to join our Patient Support Department. Senders Pediatrics has been caring for children and their families for more than 30 years, and we are still growing. The Patient Service Representative serves as a first line of response for patients and patient families; greets and registers patients, answers and triages incoming calls, schedules patients and performs additional administrative duties that support operational efficiency of the Patient Support Department.
Essential Functions:
- Greets patients and visitors in a friendly manner, determines nature of business, directs them appropriately
- Answers phones, schedules patients and takes messages in a courteous and efficient fashion
- Collects patient’s insurance card and co-pay at registration
- Enters and updates patient information into the Electronic Medical Record
- Retrieves and routes incoming faxes, mail and packages in a timely fashion
- Scans all medical correspondence; identifies the medical category and routes to the appropriate location
- Maintains the reception area, ensures giveaways, business cards, forms, magazines and literature are stocked and neat
- Additional administrative duties as assigned
Our Hours and Expectations:
We are open 7 days a week; 7:30 to 5:30, two late night hours on Tues/Wednesday (8:00 pm) and 9-12 on Saturday and Sunday. A typical schedule includes one (1) late night per week and two (2) weekend days per month - scheduled through rotation.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED is required
- Minimum of one (1) year experience providing customer service required, healthcare environment preferred
- Demonstrates the time management, organizational, planning, and prioritization skills critical to the successful execution of each project
- Has a working knowledge of MS Office Suite and Electronic Medical Record scheduling functionality
- Has the ability to handle a multi-line phone system with excellent communication skills
- Has the ability to work in a fast paced environment, working on multiple projects at once
- Is well organized and detail oriented
- Has a positive demeanor and professional dress at all times
