You'll provide essential mental health counseling, crisis intervention, and case management, working directly within the community to deliver trauma-informed, culturally responsive services. Join our Wraparound team to provide family-centered mental health counseling, support, crisis intervention, and case management services for youth and their families. As a Support Counselor, you will be a member of a multi-disciplinary team that provides trauma-informed, culturally responsive services in the community at times and locations convenient to the family. ABOUT WRAPAROUND

Seneca offers intensive "Wraparound" services to children and youth at risk of placement in a high-level residential treatments or juvenile hall, and to their families. The Wraparound programs are strengths-based, family-driven, flexible, and creative, with the goal of helping the family develop the skills and supports to prevent or reduce the possibility of residential placement of their child. A family-based team addresses the needs of the entire family, not just the at-risk child. This family-based team consists of family members, Seneca's Care Coordinators, Youth counselors, Parent Partners, Permanency Specialist and other community members who have an important role in the family,

Responsibilities

  • Provide counseling and case management services for enrolled youth and their families.
  • Support client and family to connect to natural supports and community-based resources.
  • Provide crisis intervention and other mental health services as needed at client homes, schools, and other community locations.
    • Travel to clients will be required. Mileage will be reimbursed.
  • Participate in all treatment reviews, program staff meetings, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings when necessary.
  • Complete mental health notes and other paperwork, and complete service tracking documentation as indicated.
  • Assist with planning arrangements and transportation for school, therapy appointments, and court hearings as needed.
  • Attend team meetings, weekly trainings, individual and group supervisions, and adhere to clinical best practices.
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule.
  • Participate in providing emergency on-call response as scheduled.
  • Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques as per Seneca's crisis response training. This may include intervening with the clients' behavioral program through physical management of the clients, if applicable. Training in additional crisis intervention modalities may be required.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • Education/Experience Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements.
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies’ insurance policy.
  • Proof of up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination.

PREFERRED

  • Experience working with children/youth and families with complex and enduring needs.
  • Experience implementing family-focused services.

SKILLS OF AN IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse population and workforce.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and writing skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Schedule

  • Full-time, 100% in person services
  • Sunday - Thursday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM
  • Some flexibility required on evenings and weekends to accommodate for familes' needs

Benefits

  • Starting at $23.51 - $26.01 per hour
    • Actual salary dependent of creditable experience above the minimum qualifications for the role
    • Additional compensation provided upon passing bilingual language proficiency exam
