What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recovery Ridge BH Technician position at Seneca Health Services, Inc?
Recovery Ridge is a men's recovery home in Summersville, WV. BHTs are responsible for the general well-being of the residents, including, but not limited to, providing supportive services, assisting with day-to-day living activities, transportation, providing protective oversight, ensuring the resident’s program plans are implemented and the resident attends scheduled activities.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED required. Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must obtain and maintain AMAP certification.
Two-years’ experience working with individuals diagnosed with behavioral health and/or substance abuse/dependency disorder preferred.
Valid driver’s license and vehicle required.
Must pass a Criminal Background Check and Employment Fitness Determination through WVCARES and a drug screen.
Demonstrated knowledge of basic computer skills required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Interacts positively with residents and models appropriate socialization and communication skills.
- Performs activities that assist residents in the day-to-day living, such as meal preparation, cleaning, etc.
- Ensures the facility is kept within acceptable standards by managing completion of cleaning tasks.
- Provides protective oversight of residents.
- Provides transportation and accompanies residents to local appointments when appropriate and/or necessary.
- Assists in the admission process
- Requests all needed supplies, monitors inventory, and completes grocery shopping, as needed.
- Provides medical administration as certified AMAP.
- Attends all staff meetings, Seneca required training, workshops or seminars. Maintains current certifications, including but not limited to CPR, First Aid, Crisis De-Escalation and Infection Control.
- Reports and documents any unusual events or violations of policy to the appropriate person.
- Represent Seneca in a positive manner including maintaining a positive attitude, performing duties in a manner in accordance with Seneca’s Mission Statement and Code of Conduct and treats residents with dignity and respect.
- Utilizes Personal Protective Equipment and follows guidelines outlined in Seneca’s Exposure Control Plan.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
