JOB SUMMARY
The Development Assistant provides administrative support to the Development department. Key responsibilities include following documented Salesforce CRM protocols for entry of daily cash, check, and credit card deposits, processing invoices and acknowledgements for contributions to the Zoo Society, and general clerical duties such as scanning, copying, filing, data entry and data cleanup. Work schedule may include weekends and evenings to meet the needs of the organization.
DUTIES
- Process all development donations; including cash, check, credit card gift processing and entry in Salesforce CRM. Processing acknowledgement letters, including Partners in Conservation membership cards and welcome packages.
- Corporate membership/sponsorship management, to include gift processing and entry into Salesforce CRM, creating and sending invoices, and processing acknowledgements and membership benefit packages in a timely fashion.
- Accurate entry of Jungle Jog registrant data from RunSignUp web portal into Salesforce CRM.
- Accurate entry of Zoobilation Ticket sales and gift-in-kind transactions from Greater Giving into Salesforce CRM.

Attendance at selected donor and special events.
- Assisting with selected event setup and breakdown, tracking reservations prior to the event, day of event registration and check in, and follow up entry in Salesforce CRM as needed.
- Regular review of Salesforce CRM to ensure donor data entered is accurate and up to date.
- Maintain up-to-date Development Department files.
- Remain up to speed on Salesforce CRM.
- Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
This position requires sitting, walking, standing, speaking, hearing, interacting with guests, and staff. Will work at a computer for extended periods of time. Some lifting and carrying less than 40 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily in an office environment with moderate noise. Walking to various locations throughout Seneca Park Zoo will require exposure to outdoor elements. The work schedule may require weekends, evenings, and extended hours as needed to meet the needs of the position. Management retains the right to alter work schedules accordingly.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 21 with Valid NYS Driver's License
TRANSPORTATION REQUIREMENTS
Own vehicle is not required; however, some working shifts may conclude at late hours when public transportation is less accessible.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
An Associate's degree or equivalent years of experience is required.
Must be proficient in Microsoft office products; Salesforce experience a plus.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
One to three years related or applicable experience.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Cash handling/deposit experience a plus.
Clerical experience a plus.
