Job Responsibilities:
The EHS Representative will serve as an integral member of the Environmental, Health & Safety team with responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:
- Ensures safe work practices among employees and contractors
- Provides guidance, support and responds to requests internally and externally on EHS policies and procedures
- Assists in development of EHS literature, including guidelines, standard operating procedures (SOPs), safe work practices (SWPs), and best management practices (BMP)
- Participates in and facilitates the risk assessment process, including HAZID, HAZOP, and SimOps
- Facilitates pre-job/pre-startup safety reviews between multiple departments and contractors
- Executes EHS audits; inspects equipment and facilities, documents and addresses deficiencies
- Follows-up on EHS audits, incidents, and investigations to ensure risks have been mitigated and corrective action has been completed
- Works with contractor safety personnel to bring contractor safety programs in alignment with Seneca programs
- Assists in development of training materials and trains applicable personnel in EHS programs and safety standards
- Coordinates emergency response drills; documents lessons learned and evaluates possible corrective actions
- Continuously improves Seneca EHS performance through validation of safety management systems
- Comply with Seneca’s EHSQ policies, standards and procedures while taking a proactive role in managing environmental, health, and safety for assigned areas of responsibility
- Bachelor's degree in a Safety, Environmental, or Compliance related discipline and a minimum of five (5) or more years of related experience or
- High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of seven (7) or more years of direct safety-related experience
- Oil and gas safety experience preferred
- Flexible, with the ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and proactively with minimal supervision and can manage multiple diverse tasks
