IT Specialist II

Job Summary

The IT Specialist II role is responsible for assisting and leading the efforts in diagnosing and resolving intermediate to advanced technical issues, ensuring optimal functionality of our IT systems, and supporting end-users across multiple locations. This position is critical to maintaining a responsive and reliable IT environment that meets the operational needs of a high-volume distribution network.

What You Will Do…

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

• Diagnose and resolve escalated hardware, software, and network issues from Tier I support.
• Provide advanced support for Microsoft 365, VPN, remote desktop, and network connectivity issues.
• Troubleshoot and manage security protocols, including authentication and access control.
  
  

System Administration

• Leads efforts in managing user accounts, permissions, and access in Active Directory and other directory services.
• Perform routine maintenance on servers, workstations, and network hardware.
• Monitor system performance, identify, and resolve potential bottlenecks or issues proactively.
• Maintenance and manage proprietary software and systems.
  
  

End-User Support

• Respond to user requests and provide solutions to software or hardware issues within established SLA timeframes.
• Conduct training sessions or create documentation for end-users to improve their proficiency with company systems.
• Maintain excellent communication and a high level of customer service when addressing user needs.
  
  

Teamwork and Dedication

• Team-oriented attitude to help other colleagues and departments with technical problems.
• Willingness to solve complicated problems and see projects through to completion.
  
  

Additional

• Act as back-up support to the IT Manager
  
  

Physical Demands

• Able to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
• Able to move about office setting to complete responsibilities.
• Able to move freely around work and customer sites.
• Able to climb stairs and ladders, kneel, bend, and stoop.
• Heavy use of phone, computer, and office equipment.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required

• Associate degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field;
• Minimum of 5 years in an IT Support or Tier II support role, preferably in a multi-site or distribution environment.
• Proficiency in Windows and macOS operating systems.
• Experience with Office 365, Active Directory, and network troubleshooting.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  
  

Preferred

• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A , Network , Microsoft certifications) preferred.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, such as Azure or AWS, is a plus.
