We are a truly independent brokerage, so you have many more tools at your disposal than working captively for a carrier.
About the Role
This is a Knoxville, TN-based role that works in the office and community, collaborating with others, meeting clients, delivering Medicare educational seminars, and engaging in community events. It is NOT a remote position; only candidates based in or relocating to East Tennessee will be considered.
Responsibilities
- trains, coaches, and motivates a team of employed Medicare phone (and in-person) sales agents, leading the team to achieve individual and team goals
- implements effective sales techniques and strategies to ensure company quotas are met by holding daily check-ins with the sales team to set objectives and monitor progress
- performs weekly quality assurance evaluations, providing coaching and/or taking corrective action
- utilizes call monitoring to help agents grow from good to great and provides regular feedback
- creates and clearly communicates an overall phone sales strategy to support business objectives
- oversees sales meetings and orientations for new and veteran agents
- supports and actively contributes to a positive, results-oriented culture
- conducts performance assessments and develops talent and bench strength for the entire company
- maintains a consistent amount of personal production based on agreed goals to contribute to team success and stay current
- works closely with marketing and business development to design and implement marketing campaigns and public relations initiatives, serving as a spokesperson and educator
- deals with agents' escalated issues to seek constructive outcomes
- work on cross-functional teams to create rollout plans for new products, services, or technology as needed
- develops and conducts training for new and existing products, services, or technology as needed
Qualifications
BS/BA or a combination of equivalent education and experience
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of successful sales experience
- Ability to obtain a TN life and health insurance license
- proven experience as a sales manager
- proven people management and leadership experience
- computer and internet proficiency, especially proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- experience working with a CRM (Customer Relations Management system). Salesforce is as plus!
- proficient communication in English (verbal and written); excellent grammar and spelling
Preferred Skills
- experience and thorough knowledge of Medicare and other Senior insurance products
- training and process improvement experience
- experience building long-term client relationships
- entrepreneurial experience, large or small
- community/volunteer leadership experience
- licensed life and health insurance agent and maintenance of active licensure
