Adult Day Services Assistant Manager

People Helping People has been the foundation of Senior Friendship Centers for over 50 years, and we are looking for a dynamic Adult Day Services Assistant Manager! The ADS Assistant Manager provides support for the ADS Program Manager with program activity planning, supervision of Program Assistants, administrative duties, and more.

 

We are seeking a compassionate individual who thrives on living out our values of helping others. The ADS Assistant Manager will be a compassionate individual who embodies integrity, respect, and collaboration. Experience with activities, lifestyle planning for seniors, and Microsoft Office are a plus.

 

Our Adult Day Services Programs offer loved ones who are experiencing frailties of aging a welcoming place to spend the day. Participants enjoy engaging activities, music, art/pet therapy, cognitive stimulation, socialization, cozy fireplaces, comfy chairs, and a spacious outdoor area.

 

Senior Friendship Centers is the safety net for close to 10,000 seniors, providing a wide variety of programs. This is a 30-35 hour full-time, Monday - Friday position with benefits including, health, dental, vision, life insurance, 403b with employer match, generous PTO, paid holidays, and more!  Essential Functions:

• Participate in day to day implementation of the program.

• Maintain an understanding and awareness of all aspects of the program.

• Facilitate therapeutic programs for participants.

• Plan and manage assigned tasks independently making modifications as program and participant needs require.

• Assist with evaluation and implementation of assistance needed with an ADL’s. such as ambulation, toileting, transfers, eating, etc. for program participants.

• Communicate and document participant specific observations, interests, and needs.

• Prepare the daily participant and staff assignments.

• Prepare and update participant weekly rosters and sign-in sheets.

• Responsible for the development of the monthly program schedule and calendar.

• Maintain activity bulletin boards in compliance with AHCA regulations.

• Coordinate all photo events, including the printing and photo displays.

• Assist with student and volunteer program assignments.

• Responsible for the procurement of program supplies and materials, including preparing handouts needed for planned group activities.

• Assist ADS Manager with intake of prospective program participants.

• Assist ADS Manager with the orientation of new Program Assistants.

• Communicate with community agencies or contractors in support of participant wellbeing.

• Willing and able to flex work hours to meet program staffing needs.

• Assists with presentations, copies, and promotional packets.

• Record activities, interactions, and completes the necessary paperwork.

• Assist in the coordination of Adult Day Service (ADS) tours for prospective clients for the ADS programs with Caregiving Advisor.

• Make and receive phone calls to help with planned functions.

• Make and receive phone calls to participant caregivers.

 

Organizational:

• Attend staff meetings, training, and seminars as required.

• Participate in fundraising and outreach activities to promote the organization’s mission.

• Must comply with all Senior Friendship Centers personnel policies.

• Must protect the safety and health of staff, volunteers, participants, and others by observing and following the organization’s safety and incident policies.

• Report any incident of abuse or neglect as mandated by state guidelines.

• Must comply with HIPAA regulations and OSHA laws and safety guidelines.

Education, Experience, Licenses, and Certifications:

• High School Diploma/GED or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, ability, and skills to perform the essential functions of the job.

• Three years of experience with dementia elderly care. Minimum of one year of experience organizing social, recreational, and educational programs for adults with special needs.

• Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred.

• Basic computer skills are required for administrative tasks.

• Must have experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other computer software, or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s systems.

 

Physical Demands:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer and standing.

• Must be able to lift 30 pounds.

• Must be able to navigate various departments of a physical location.

• Must be able to assist potentially frail seniors in wheelchairs or using assistive devices.

 

Travel:

• Occasional travel to other ADS program locations to assist with program duties and training may be requested.

• Travel within the several counties in which Senior Friendship Centers Inc. operates may be required as frequently as needed to support operations and outreach.

• Must have reliable transportation.

• A valid driver’s license and proof of insurance are required for all work-related travel.

 

Additional eligibility requirements:

• Satisfactory clearance of a fingerprint-based level II background screening, tuberculosis screen, and pre-employment substance abuse testing is required.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
