What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Home Maintenance Program; Safe at Home position at Senior Services of Will County?
POSITION SUMMARY: To identify, organize and coordinate activities, events and programs which will assist seniors with simple home maintenance issues, while providing oversite for projects that are beyond the scope of the program, to help seniors live safe, healthy and independent lives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1) Bachelor’s degree in Education, Construction Management or related fields or equivalent experience.
2) Two years or more experience coordinating programs and supervising residential repair projects.
3) Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and database entry.
4) Excellent customer service and communication skills.
5) Ability to work independently.
6) Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job which include bending, lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
7) Possess a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and able travel region wide with reliable transportation.

9) Ability to relate to older persons.
10) Ability to relate to staff in a professional manner

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Manage program and staff by ensuring the program is running efficiently.
2. Maintain program operating budget, assist with providing data for the program to develop budget year over year.
3. Create and report financial and program data at monthly Board of Directors meetings.
4. Attend community events for networking and promoting of the program.
5. Analyzing program success on a regular basis, provide feedback and ideas to ensure the program is running efficiently and fulfilling the mission.
6. Maintain database of contractors.
7. Maintain supplies and equipment, complete purchase order requests as needed.
8. Complete home visits to evaluate simple home maintenance requests from those aged 60 and older, determine the viability of the project, and determine next steps.
9. Ensure client understands sliding scale, financial requirements for payment of services, and submit payment for processing to Fiscal Department.
10. Install, repair, service, and test equipment to ensure a safe, stable, and working product, as needed.
11. Provide education and resources to seniors aged 60 and older about services and equipment in their homes and at community events.
12. Complete referral to contractors as needed such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical service providers.
13. Maintain detailed records of services and maintenance performed.
14. Complete transactions with clients, provide receipts, and any warranty or follow-up information.
15. Ensure all needs of the homeowners are addressed. Schedule follow up appointments if needed.
16. Complete referrals to the Care Coordination Unit or Adult Protective Services as needed.
17. Perform maintenance tasks at all Senior Services Properties as needed.
18. Attend necessary training courses and staff meetings.
19. Serves as resource person for persons aged 60 and over and their families in the community.
20. Follow agency policies and procedures.
21. Projects good image for agency.
22. Maintains credibility and integrity of organization.
23. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 per year
