We are searching for an experienced Senior Buyer/Planner at our Mankato, MN facility.
Determine and set daily, weekly, and monthly manufacturing schedules through partnership with Sales, Customer Service, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing. To perform this role successfully, you will examine customer orders, available staff and inventory, and machinery capabilities to effectively set and manage production schedules. You will be the liaison between manufacturing and other functions for production scheduling and delivery status inquiries.
Monitor manufacturing performance and actively adjust schedules in response to equipment failures or supply shortages. They also identify opportunities to make processes more efficient and cut down on production costs through more effective scheduling.

Responsibilities
- Creates, maintains, and modifies master production schedules through partnership with Sales, Project Managers, Supply Chain, and Production.
- Creates work orders to support inventory targets and upper-level demand.
- Performs material transactions to support work order and job creation, issuance, and close out to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Analyzes demand changes for impact to engineering, supply chain, and/or manufacturing.
- Establishes priorities for specific customer orders.
- Revises schedule according to work order specifications, established priorities, and availability or capability of workers, parts, material, machines, and equipment.
- Identify problems to improve efficiency, on-time shipment, and lead-time reduction.
- Distributes work orders to departments, denoting number, type, and proposed completion date of units to be produced.
- Communicates with department supervisors/managers to determine progress of work and to provide information on changes in processing methods received from methods or engineering departments.
- Compiles reports concerning progress of work and downtime due to failures of machines and equipment to apprise production planning personnel of production delays.
- Maintains inventory of materials and parts needed to complete production.
- Expedites production of spare parts and establishes delivery dates for spare parts orders.
- Ensure accurate reporting of on-time shipment, lead-time, inventory, and month-end WIP.
- Strong organization, prioritization, and planning skills.
- Ability to use software to create routine reports, schedules, and correspondence.
- Experience reviewing reports and using data to make informed production decisions.
- Proven process enhancement skills.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to coordinate a team to ensure that schedules, inventory availability & delivery dates are balanced.
- Ability to adapt & adequately respond to issues like material shortages, equipment failures or changes to customer orders
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
