Internship Coordinator - LTW
Position Overview:
QCH is seeking an Internship Coordinator to join the Learning to Work (LTW) Program at the Young Adult Borough Center (YABC) at John Adams High School. This program provides an alternative pathway to graduation for youth aged 17 and older by offering real-world work experiences and career preparation.Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, secure, and oversee diverse internship opportunities aligned with students’ career goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with employers to ensure quality, compliant internship experiences.
- Conduct regular site visits and maintain ongoing communication with students and employers to track progress.
- Provide one-on-one and group career counseling to support students’ academic, professional, and personal growth.
- Conduct regular check-ins with students to evaluate internship experiences and progress.
- Assist students with resume writing, interview skills, and career readiness preparation.
- Organize and lead career panels, job fairs, and professional development workshops.
- Collaborate with LTW staff and school partners to address student needs.
- Monitor and assess internship hour requirements and program outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records of student participation and internship placements using Salesforce and other databases.
- Prepare reports and track student success metrics.
- Support recruitment, intake, and orientation of new LTW students.
- Engage students’ families to foster support for program participation.
- Partner with community organizations to expand program resources and services.
- Attend staff meetings, trainings, and organizational events.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Education, Social Work, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with youth in education or workforce development.
- Strong knowledge of career development, workforce readiness, and challenges faced by high school students.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with employers, students, and community partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with database management.
