Position Summary
We are looking for someone to assist and contribute in the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of Thunderline Z’s quality management systems, policies, and customer-specific requirements for new and existing product lines. Includes Auditing, Calibration, AS9102, ISO, PPAPs, FAIs, FMA’s, Corrective Actions, Document Control, etc. This person will also test and inspect incoming vendor material, customer supplied material, final and in process products, and component at inspection points in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Position Responsibilities
Inspection and Test equipment related to Glass to Metal Seals and soldered housings including but not limited to Microscopes; magnifying lenses; tweezers, micrometers, verniers, computer, copy machine, hand tools, power tools, hi-pot, leak detectors, vision systems.
DEXTERITY REQUIREMENTS:
Hand/eye coordination; handling (holding, grasping); fingering (picking, pinching); wrist motion (repetitive flexion/rotation).
LIFTING REQUIREMENTS:
Routine weight lifted < 1 pound. Heaviest weight lifted is 20 pounds.
CARRYING REQUIREMENTS:
Average weight carried < 1 pound. Heaviest weight carried is < 20 pounds.
PUSH/PULL REQUIREMENTS:
Occasional

Position Responsibilities
- Uses a variety of mechanical and optical equipment to inspect and measure product to engineering prints and customer requirements. Include GD&T as well as dimensional overlays.
- Oversees the Inspection activity and Quality requirements of new product lines as well as existing lines.
- Provides instruction to co-workers and/or subordinates in the proper inspection methods to assure part integrity and repeatability.
- Maintains compliance with Environmental and other Safety requirements.
- Evaluates and makes recommendations for improvements.
- Maintains employee’s time and production schedules.
- Creation of documentation that reports issues and errors relating to the production process with efforts placed to find a solution to decrease return costs and improve customer satisfaction.
- Monitoring performance and quality of personnel, processes, and methods on an ongoing basis to ensure compliance with documented procedures and industry standards such as IPC 610/J STD/Mil883.
- Development of inspection and work instructions.
- Preparation of inspection and customer required reports and/or documentation including PPAP’s and AS9100 FAI’s.
- Coordination and performance of internal process/product audits, calibration activity and RMA’s.
- Performs Internal audits and audits of supplies.
- Ability to read and interpret assembly and component drawings and engineering specifications.
- Provides Quality System support as needed.
- Performs other miscellaneous duties and special projects that may be assigned.
- Work together with relevant teams and departments to improve product and processes and to solve issues.
- High School graduate or equivalent with Mechanical measurement and Quality System training.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mechanical and visual inspection in a manufacturing environment and a minimum of 3 years in Quality Systems discipline (ISO).
- Proficient MS Office software skills, computer skills, math skills; written/oral communication skills’ hand tools use; power tools, complex blueprint reading skills, analytical skills.
- Good knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Capacity to work independently from general supervision.
- Excellent organization skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks and obtain results working within strict time frames.
- Strong attention to details.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
