The Role
The Field Service Technician (FST) is responsible for installation, reactive and preventative maintenance, as well as emergency services for automated enforcement equipment. As the FST your primary responsibility will be our installation base in Albany, NY but willing and able to travel throughout the Northeast region as needed. The FST will work directly with our engineering team in a collaborative effort to optimize our service delivery, system uptime and repair procedures to ensure the highest quality of operations for our customers. Daily work will include, report review of system performance, working with PC’s and software to test and repair hardware, remotely monitor of systems, coordinating with local contractors for service tasks, recording maintenance logs, and communicating with team members to share knowledge allowing an effective solution to problems.
Skills and Responsibilities
• Be a self-starter, have the capacity to work independently with limited supervision.
• Take ownership of technical issues, drive each problem to resolution.
• Effective communicator to our internal and external customers
• Knowledge and experience using power tools and hand tools is essential. Ability to read wiring diagrams and understand building plans is preferred.
• Knowledge of AC & DC circuits including relays, must be skilled with the use of a multimeter
• Experience with networks, with the ability to setup and troubleshoot IP devices.
• 65% Field Work, 25% Travel out of state
Qualifications
• A degree or certification related to engineering, technology, or construction. Comparable on the job training also accepted.
• 2 - 4 years’ experience working in a warehouse or repair department with a background in installing, programming, repairing electronic equipment
• Familiar with Google applications; docs, sheets, slides
• Personal vehicle capable of transporting a ladder, milage reimbursement provide at National rate
Work Environment
• Ability to work at heights of 10’ to 30’ high
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
• Likes being outdoors in all weather conditions
• Flexibility to work after hours and weekends
