POSITION DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Field Operator
DEPARTMENT: Field Services
REPORTS TO: Gas Plant Operations Supervisor
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plant Duties:
Inspect, operate, and maintain Gas plant equipment including but not limited to Gas compressors, Pumps, Process equipment and NGL storage. Perform various tests on Glycol, process liquids, and gas streams. Monitor production and sales of NGL and gas. Generate daily and monthly production sheets and transmit to office for compilation. Complete daily visual inspections of all safety devices and equipment. Communicate equipment problems, process and compressor issues, and production variances to supervisor. Understand, troubleshoot process problems and make minor mechanical repairs to keep processing equipment online. Perform housekeeping and safety compliance activities in and around plant operations.
Reporting:
Input daily production numbers into reporting software and be able to access data for occasional checks or produce reports. Generate, create, and close work orders using Maximo for maintenance and reliability. Have computer fluency for input and transmission of gas meter totalflow, tank gauges, BOL tickets, pressures, temperatures, compressor data.
Team Dynamics:
Be able to work within plant operation teams, technical teams and safety and compliance teams for occasional reviews to include plant reviews, safety reviews and general production optimization or operability input on CAPEX/Maintenance projects.
Perform the following functions:

§ Check pump fluid levels
§ Adjust dump valves
§ Monitor gas regulators
§ Maintain vacuum System
§ Perform NGL tests
§ Perform hourly plant rounds
§ Witness totalflow calibrations
§ Change process and glycol filters.
§ Check glycol system levels
§ Diagnose pant issues and problems
§ Inspect locations for compliance with signage, safety, environmental, etc.
§ Monitor DOT Pipelines
Operate and maintain the following surface equipment:
§ Air compressors
§ Alarm/SCADA System
§ Chemical injection pumps
§ Electric motors
§ Glycol System
§ Flow control equipment
§ Free water knockouts or Condensate vessels
§ Gas compressors from 20 to 500 HP ranges
§ Gas engines
§ Process heater
§ Gas meters
§ Separators
§ H2S safety breathing equipment
§ Production headers
§ Hot oil system
§ Gas Chromatograph
§ NGL or Condensate storage tanks
§ Centrifugal pumps
§ PD pumps
§ Refrigeration System
§ Firewater system
§ Compressor system
§ NGL loading and BOL
Equipment used:
§ Assortment of wrenches and general tools
§ Vapor pressure bombs
§ Computers w/ various software (MS Office Software Suite etc.)
§ Radio communication or mobile phones
§ Safety equipment: safety glasses, steel toe boots, Flame Retardant Clothing (FRC) and approved hard hat
§ Glycol testing monitor
Requirements
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
· High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
· A minimum of 3 years operational experience in the Oil and Gas industry.
· Mechanical experience with and knowledge of above-mentioned equipment.
· Ability to use a PC / MS Office Suite
· Ability to learn software to include Maximo / eVIN / SCADA, Others.
· Requesting supplies, materials, equipment
· Environmental Safety and General Safety Training is required.
· Experience in LTS Gas plant operations a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The position requires manual dexterity to handle documents and operate office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, printers, shredders and computers. Performing repetitive motions, and extended periods of sitting, standing and walking for varying lengths of time. The position requires interacting and communicating professionally with others via verbal and written communication. Learning new tasks, processes and concepts, thinking to solve problems, concentrating on required tasks, distinguishing color and depth perception and reading data, figures, electronic and hard copy documents.
The position requires frequent stooping, bending, squatting, crawling, crouching, pushing, reaching, pulling, lifting, grasping, fingering/pinching, reaching over the shoulders and below the waist, carrying of up to 75 lbs. while walking, lifting up to 95 lbs. to waist level and lifting up to 65 lbs. over shoulder level, the continuous use of both hands, arms, and feet and the manual dexterity to operate heavy and light tools, equipment, and materials.
The position requires walking or traversing over and across uneven terrain, accessing of areas outdoors and on or around equipment, over or around obstacles or structures such as pipes, low rails and walls, stooping or bending to reach certain locations, climbing stairs or ladders, and exposure to outside weather conditions.
The position requires wearing personal protection equipment such as gloves, gas mask, suits, etc. with an average weight of 10-25 pounds.
