ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serves as subject matter expert for EH&S compliance issues and regulations affecting the company’s operations.
- Specializes in regulatory compliance for Sentinel Peak Resources assets including air emissions, water/stormwater management, hazardous material/waste management, land use, occupational health & safety,fish & wildlife, and other regulated activities associated with oil & gas production in California.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies:
- Responds to regulatory notices from regulators.
- Manages and coordinates agency inspections and data requests.
- Submits periodic monitoring reports to regulatory agencies.
- Maintains updated regulatory documentation and informs, updates, and instructs operations personnel and contractors in the field; conducts regular awareness training of all field personnel.
- Maintains rapport with outside agencies, Sentinel Peak Resources’ corporate office, and field locations.
- Reviews and analyzes existing EH&S and land use regulations and permit conditions, recommends/coordinates compliance activities, and related compliance requirements in support of operation and production projects.
- Develops, conducts/coordinates EH&S compliance training to meet governmental and company requirements.
- Coordinates activities with operations staff and consultants/contractors on a regular basis.
- Participates in EH&S on-callrotation, available around-the-clock while on-call to coordinate with operators and make necessary regulatory reporting.
- Participates in the IncidentManagement Team in the event the IncidentCommand System is activated for oil spills or emergencies.
- Establishes and administers various EH&S field manuals, guidance documents, compliance plans.
- Assists with completion of permit applications and is responsible for maintaining tracking sheets / data entries that chart status of pending applications.
- Supports EH&S Manager with other regulatory/environmental work as assigned.
- All other job-related duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degreein a scientific or technicalcourse of study or equivalent combination of technical training, technical certification, and/or related experience.
- 5 years’experience in industrial EH&S or an oil &gas-related job preferred.
- Professional certification(s) related to duties preferred.
- Valid California driver’s license with a driving record deemed acceptable by the company’s auto insurance carrier.
- Ability to comprehend and apply federal,state and local occupational safety and environmental requirements to our worksites.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare concise reports and present information in an effective manner.
- Ability to develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships with community stakeholders, company and contractpersonnel from other Departments.
- Ability to maintain required records in an organized manner.
- Proficiency using MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines and to maintainflexibility in prioritizing work responsibilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Visual and manual dexterity are extremely important for this position as is mobility to walk safely in oilfields, along proposed improvement corridors, to view potentially impacted areas, and overall safely traverse irregular terrain. Visual acuity to safely drive at night and in a variety of weather conditions is required.
The job presents work hazards that are customary in upstream oil & gas production sites. Incumbent will be subject to performing sedentary to light work, exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, or constantly lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, reach overhead for items, stoop, bend, and twist while working. Other physical activities include ability to utilize fingers to feel and grasp objects or work devices as needed and manual dexterity in the use of the hands, seeing, talking, hearing, performing repetitive motions and standing for long periods of time. Incumbent must be able to drive a vehicle, usually a car or light truck, and get into and out of the vehicle on a regular basis. Requirements include walking on uneven ground and over or around obstacles or structures such as pipes or low rails and walls, and up and down stairs on a regular basis.

Salary : $120,000 - $170,000
