Job Overview:
As a Shop Technician at Sentinel Supply, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our firearms and ammunition retail shop and gun range. You will be responsible for a range of duties, from providing armorer services to officers to managing inventory and fulfilling orders. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient environment is important to the overall success of our shop.
Shop Technician Responsibilities:
General Shop and Range Maintenance:
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on the gun range to ensure a safe and functional environment for customers and officers.
- Ensure that demo guns are in excellent condition for customer viewing and testing.
- Oversee the recycling process of range brass to promote sustainability and environmental responsibility.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring adequate stock of firearms, ammunition, and related accessories, coordinating restocking efforts as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of shop, gun range, breakroom, and restroom.
- Ensure office supplies, beverages, and other general items remain stocked.
Customer Service:
- Provide professional armorer services to officers, departments, and customers ensuring firearms are properly maintained and in optimal working condition.
- Conduct Inspect, Observe, and Protect (IOP) procedures on firearms and ammunition to guarantee quality and safety.
- Handle Point of Sale transactions efficiently, including the accurate closing and opening of the register.
- Process and fulfill ammunition orders and returns as needed, for departments and customers, maintaining accurate records.
- Accurately fulfill engraving orders according to customer specifications.
- Coordinate and schedule range appointments for customers and officers.
Shipping and Receiving:
- Manage the shipment process by taking items to USPS and UPS, ensuring timely and secure delivery.
- Receive and process incoming freight items and large ammunition orders, checking for accuracy and completeness.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a firearms or retail environment.
- Knowledge of firearms and ammunition, preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
