Your role at Sephora:
As the Payroll Specialist, you will perform standard tasks to establish and maintain payroll records. You will respond to more challenging payroll issues, identify operational trends within assigned area of work, identify root causes and provide recommendations for process improvements. You will be responsible for leveraging subject matter knowledge to ensure integration and consistency of practices across the operation. In addition, you will:
- Complete on- and off-cycle payroll processing activities, for multi-state U.S. payrolls, accurately, timely, and efficiently in compliance with all federal, state/provincial, local, and regulatory requirements
- Perform audits on data and system maintenance, including, but not limited to new hire set up, tax forms processing, local taxes, timekeeping input, direct deposit set up, benefits set up, terminations, and garnishments processing
- Provide client support to all areas of the organization in the US (stores, distribution centers and corporate) which can include, but is not limited to, payroll processing, ticket management, issue trend analysis, and project related work
- Monitor and identify payroll-related operational trends, and provide recommendations for process improvements
- Support with year-end related tasks and client requests (e.g., data issue resolution, W-2 and W2c generation)
- Follow and maintain internal control policies, procedures, and compliance with respect to the payroll process, including, but not limited to pay policies, payroll calendars, payroll checklists, process maps and other procedural documentation
- Serve as point of contact for the payroll accounting team on cross-functional work between payroll and payroll accounting
- Support with garnishment processing
- Maintain confidential information when required by legal or ethical standards and professionalism to ensure privacy of employee records
- Perform other duties as assigned

We’re excited about you if you have:
- 3 years of payroll processing experience, including expertise in a multi-state/country payroll environment with deep expertise of full-cycle US payroll as well as understanding of payroll and accounting best practice
- Knowledge of wage and hour laws, and taxation related to payroll
- Dayforce experience preferred
- Analytical, and problem-solving skills, including intermediate Excel skills and demonstrated ability of analyzing and presenting data
- Attention to detail, high degree of accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with employees across all organizational levels
- Interpersonal and client service skills, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships, and to deal tactfully and courteously with business partners and clients when explaining the functions and policies of Payroll
- Organizational and planning skills, including being able to work reliably and efficiently under demanding deadlines with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of Ceridian Dayforce or similar time & attendance and payroll cloud-applications
The target hourly pay for this position is $36.00 - $43.00 per hour. The actual hourly pay offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the individual applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
