We are seeking candidates for the position of Process Improvement Analyst (9241) - Automotive Support in the AEE&M/Bus Vehicle Engineering.

Salary Range: Min: $63,700.00 - Mid: $79,612.00
OVERALL DESCRIPTION
Assists in the analyzation of process summaries on vehicle job standards to improve performance. Provides support for reviewing and monitoring existing standards, VMIS job codes, and Standard Operating Procedures associated with fleet maintenance.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collects, analyzes, and presents results of new processes summaries with use of available tools and data.
- Examines and validates existing job standards performed utilizing process mapping, flow charting & standard tools to document task processing and duration time for benchmarking and analysis.
- Ensures work being performed is in accordance with existing Standard Operating Procedures, Engineering Change Notices, and Maintenance manuals.
- Promotes and teaches Lean principles throughout locations by coaching and mentoring employees, defining, and executing project plans, and monitoring performance improvement.
- Performs root cause analysis, creates corrective and preventative action plans, and creatively envision, design, and implements new process summaries.
- Assists in the creation, monitoring, and analyzing of job standard key performance indicators by job class, location, work activity, etc.
- Assists with establishing baseline data and identifies Key Performance Indicators to quantify impacts of process improvement implementation.
- Identifies improvement opportunities through the analysis of data relating to specific processes within a team and/or cross-functional teams.
- Communicates with individuals across the Authority to enhance methodologies, processes, training, and performance.
- Interfaces with Union representatives to ensure process studies are in compliance with all Bargaining Agreements.
- Complies with all Authority and departmental safety and security policies and procedures as well as all applicable job safety responsibilities. Reports any safety concerns, compromises or hazards affecting operations, the public self and/or other employees. Responsible for personal safety and is encouraged to promote the safety of others.
- Performs other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related field, and minimum of two (2) years relevant experience in vehicle engineering, maintenance, and/or quality assurance required.
- An equivalent combination of experience and education (i.e., two (2) years of related experience, equating to one (1) year of formal post high school education) may be considered in lieu of the above requirements.
- Strong computer skills required.
- Extensive transit vehicle knowledge required.
- Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills required.
- Six Sigma/Lean experience preferred.
