POSITION TITLE: Service Technician
BASIC DESCRIPTION: To provide diagnostic and repair services in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining our company reputation of top-quality customer service. This position is the image of our company and, as a result, is important to the continued success of our company.
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY:
· Electrical & plumbing troubleshooting and repairs
· Handle problems that arise in an efficient and professional manner
· Portray professionalism on behalf of our company
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Diagnose and repair septic systems
· Cross-train to help in other departments when necessary
· Maintain time and production standards
· Keep service truck tidy and stocked
· Maintain paperwork legible and informative
· Handle money responsibly
· Arrive on time each workday and maintain a consistent attendance record
· Help keep shop area clean
· Available to work overtime in peak season (typically April-mid November)
· Available to work on an occasional weekend day and a rare holiday
SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES:
· Basic electrical, plumbing, & equipment operations skills
· Motivated and a self-starter yet able to work within a team
· Enjoy dealing with people
· Proficient reading a map and navigating
· Take pride in a job well done
· Able to work outside in all weather conditions
· Prepared to work long hours during peak periods
REQUIREMENTS:
· Excellent driving record with Class C minimum (or able to pass exam for license upgrade to Class C); no more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years; no reckless or alcohol violations
· Able to pass the DOT physical exam as well as pre-employment & random drug/alcohol testing
· Able to navigate truck on tight roads and driveways
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Possess mapping and navigation skills including how to read a map
· Able to lift to 50 pounds throughout the day and to climb into and out of truck 20 times per day (approximate 2-foot step up into truck with pivot into seat)
· Able to bend, stoop, lift arms over head
· Conversational English skills along with reading and writing
· Able to work flexible hours, holidays, and weekends
· Able to work in a fast-paced environment
