Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties
- Establish and manage the contracts function at Sequel, including selecting, implementing, and owning a contract management system.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all contract-related matters and be the first person to review all contracts at Sequel, with a primary focus on PBM and wholesale agreements.
- Manage the
- Manage the supplier initiation process, including reviewing and approving supplier contracts in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Escalate complex contract issues to the VP, Legal as needed and provide recommendations for resolution.
- Track the terms of all contracts, including key dates, milestones, and deliverables, and ensure timely action and compliance, as well as cross-functional communication of same.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to interpret and implement contract requirements and obligations.
- Work with the legal team to establish standard and preferred contract terms for Sequel and ensure consistency across all agreements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to facilitate effective contract management and execution.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, legal studies, or a related field preferred; advanced degree or certification in contract management strongly preferred.
- 5 years of experience managing PBM and wholesale contracts within a pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device company, or another healthcare organization.
- Demonstrated knowledge of contract management principles, practices, and procedures.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to review and interpret complex contracts effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with contract management software and tools is preferred.
- Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements relevant to the healthcare industry is a plus.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
