Under the direction of the Director of Student Support & Special Education and the Assistant Director of Assessment, the Assessment Support Program Specialist for Section 504 and Special Education is responsible for supporting and enhancing outcomes for students with disabilities through effective assessment practices. This position will provide technical assistance, training, and guidance to school staff in implementing assessments in the areas of Health Assessments, Occupational Therapy assessments, Speech Assessments, Academic Assessments, Assistive Technology and Augmentative Communication Assessments, and additional assessment areas as they arise. This position will also directly support the assessment educational specialist as well as support services in compliance with Section 504 and Special Education regulations. The Program Specialist will ensure that assessments are conducted in alignment with IEP and Section 504 requirements, supporting staff adherence to schoolwide, SELPA, state, and federal guidelines. Additionally, the role will include providing professional development and resources to staff, fostering compliance, and supporting the accurate interpretation and implementation of assessments for students with disabilities.
