POSITION SUMMARY
As the first point of contact for our guests, the Concierge sets the tone for every visit. This part-time role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, guest-focused setting and values creating warm, memorable experiences. It offers room for growth and may evolve into a Wine Educator position as business needs grow.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Guest Experience

· Greet all guests with warmth, professionalism, and enthusiasm.

· Offer walk-ins a complimentary splash and explain our flexible reservation policy.

· Introduce the greeting wine and, when appropriate, share a brief overview of Sequoia Grove’s story.

· Observe the floor to ensure every guest is acknowledged and attended to.

· Coordinate guest seating and flow with Hosts and Wine Educators to maintain efficient service.

· Communicate key guest insights to teammates for seamless service transitions.

· Promote wine sales and wine club membership confidently and informatively.

· Encourage guests to join our contact list for updates on wines, offers, and events.

System & Reservation Duties

· Accurately process transactions using Commerce7.

· Follow Concierge SOPs, including:

o Checking in and closing out reservations

o Ensuring wine club orders are fulfilled or updated

o Preparing the next day’s reservation list

o Calling to confirm next-day appointments

General & Event Support

· Help set up, host, and break down on-site and off-site events (some evenings/travel may be required).

· Maintain a clean and well-stocked concierge and outdoor area.

· Assist with restocking, merchandising, and general upkeep.

· Offer helpful tourist/local recommendations.

· Stay informed about Sequoia Grove wines, winemaking, and Napa Valley history.

QUALIFICATIONS

· 1 year in hospitality, concierge, or related guest-facing roles

· High school diploma required; college preferred

· Wine certification (CSW, WSET) is a plus

· Familiarity with Commerce7 or similar POS/reservation systems is helpful

· Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs (a case of wine)

· Comfortable standing for long periods

· Valid CA Driver’s License, clean driving record, and proof of insurance

· Basic knowledge of winemaking, viticulture, and Napa Valley

PERFORMANCE REVIEW
Performance will be evaluated based on goal achievement, guest service standards, and contribution to the team, per Sequoia Grove’s review system.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position is based in the Tasting Room and guest areas. It requires standing and walking for extended periods and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities.
