What are the responsibilities and job description for the Farm Hand, landscaper, assist with breaks for other staff, etc. position at Sequoia's Treehouse Children's Center?
Do you love working on a farm, working outdoors? Can you landscape, garden, put up shelves, do extensive farm work like drive a tractor, mow lawns with a riding lawn mower, can you use a drill and fix things, fix roofs, paint, clean, build a fence if needed, any plumbing skills? Much of the work is also helping clean animals pens and picking up after ponies and alpacas, pigs, and chickens, mowing, weed whacking, tree trimming, clearing out dense growth, giving breaks to staff, filling in when needed with the outdoor school/summer camp including being a substitute working with children for the day or however long is needed.
This is a job where you will get pulled all over, regularly. This position needs someone who can multi-task and transitions well from one task to the next while working outdoors, in the rain.
You may be asked to work in the gardens, landscape the owner's yard, weed the lawns or the driveway, trim trees, rake leaves, walk the owner's dog, start new plants, picks up sticks in the field so they don't destroy the tractor blades, be able to till a garden, have knowledge about garden plants, be a go-pher, and be a team member supporting a farm and an outdoor farm school/summer camp to thrive with many different needs of the program and farm and the owner.
Job can be FT or PT but I would prefer a full-time person who doesn't mind cleaning and supporting and working hard all day.
Compensation is $19-$23 depending on experience and skills. Must also be open to diversity and be a strong communicator and team player.
