Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Pastry Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pastry preparation and a keen eye for detail. This role involves creating a variety of baked goods and desserts that meet our high standards for quality and presentation. The Pastry Cook will work closely with the kitchen staff to ensure that all pastries are prepared efficiently and in accordance with food safety regulations.

Duties
- Prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods, ensuring consistency in quality and presentation.
- Follow recipes accurately to produce items such as cakes, cookies, tarts, and breads.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station, adhering to food safety standards.
- Utilize proper food handling techniques to ensure the safety and quality of all products.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to coordinate production schedules and meet service demands.
- Package finished products for display or sale, ensuring they are presented attractively.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, assisting with ordering as needed.
- Stay updated on current trends in the pastry field to innovate new recipes and techniques.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or similar role in the food industry.
- Experience with Italian pastry, such as cakes, cookies, sfogliatelle, cannoli, struffoli, and zeppole.
- Experience with yeast breads.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficiency with kitchen tools including knives and baking equipment.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- A passion for creating high-quality desserts and an eagerness to learn new skills.
- Culinary degree or relevant certification is preferred but not mandatory.
