Job Summary :
The Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for managing and overseeing the quality assurance process for health information. This includes assessing, compiling, correcting, assigning, monitoring, and submitting essential reports related to patients / members and their health plans. These reports must be created in compliance with strict guidelines set by the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) and healthcare providers.
Responsibilities :
Ensure high-quality standards by establishing and enforcing organizational guidelines.
Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
Compile and review inbound and outbound reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Submit reports to site managers and supervisors within specified timelines.
Adhere to organizational policies, healthcare laws, and regulations, including HIPAA.
Understand and apply DHCS and healthcare provider practices and procedures.
Work effectively to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality.
Navigate and work with multiple health plan Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
Monitor and identify discrepancies or errors within reports.
Adapt quickly to new tasks and changing requirements on a daily basis.
Train staff on policies, procedures, and quality assurance protocols.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience :
High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's in Healthcare Administration or a related field preferred.
Minimum 1 year of experience in quality assurance or a healthcare role required.
Required Skills / Abilities :
Professional verbal and written communication skills via email, calls and in-person interactions.
Demonstrate excellent multitasking skills and manage competing priorities effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer tools.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
Physical Requirements :
Prolonged periods of sitting at an office desk on the computer.
Lifting : Able to lift up to 15lbs at times.
