Serenity C & C, Inc. is a Sponsored Residential Service that is licensed by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services of the State of Virginia. Our company is licensed to provide the support and training to individuals with intellectual disabilities and we serve individuals who have a Medicaid Wavier for ID/DD.
JOB TITLE: Program Director
Position Summary:
A Program Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of an organizational initiative, including hiring staff, managing the budget, and advertising the program to potential participants. Duties include setting the scope of the program, setting deadlines and delegating tasks to team members. It is important that the Program Director maintain a professional demeanor and appearance with customers, employees, and providers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other program directors, executive assistant director, or designee to solicit instruction, feedback, and address any concerns and apply appropriate problem solving.
- Provide supervisory functions for Job coaches/program coordinators
- Provide & coordinate non-center-based activities for individuals
- Provide follow up on the progress of individuals in the program, Participate in Admission and Discharge meetings
- Communicate with Program director or designee about billing, periodic supports any ISAR that has been awaiting completion or was pending by IODS. Receive updated Tracking on SERVICE Authorizations weekly.
- Complete Admission packet ’s
- Complete Incident reports on CHRIS as needed
- Complete ISARS on individuals and submit for approval as well as complete Service Modifications and explanations when ODS Pends an ISAR
- Attend Quarterly and Annual Meetings, Complete Quarterly and Annual Reports
- Prepare charts and binders for individual & participate in licensing audits
- Communicate and provide linkage with Support Coordinators from CSB’s, Behavioral Health and etc.
- Ensure and oversee daily documentation, Communicate with Families about concerns
- Schedule appointments with individuals and families
- Complete yearly evaluations on Community Coaches/Program Coordinators
- Other duties as assigned

Serenity C&C Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide ongoing training opportunities for selected candidate
- Provide a company vehicle for all travel expenses
- Provide company phone for work related communication
- Provide Hotel and Flight accommodations (if needed)
Job Type: Full Time
Pay: $55,500 per year

Qualification/Requirements: Possess integrity and character to present a favorable example to all employees. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Education and work experience requires any combination of the following:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with two years of experience in the human services field, in lieu of degree 5 years of experience in evaluating and assessing, interdisciplinary and person-center approach, and ID waiver and supervisory experience at least 1 year experience of which shall have been in a residential facility working with the intellectually disabled.
- One to two years’ experience in the DBHDS, HCBS, ID/DD persons, ISP OR Any similar combination of education and experience
- Must be able to use MS Word, Excel, and any Data Entry software
- Program director or designee must serve as QIDP, QMHP and must also possess valid driver’s license.
- This position requires the successful completion of training/certification in CPR, first aid, behavior management, medication administration. The successful completion of criminal history and central registry background investigations.
Skills Knowledge & Abilities:
- Requires effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.
- Possess strong supervision skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals, community, and staff
- Investigative and interviewing skills; ability to analyze findings
- knowledge of intellectual disability and related physical, health, and behavioral concerns
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds frequently and 25 pounds occasionally
- Ability to open files and cabinet drawers, stoop, and bend
