Summary
The Human Resources Specialist supports all human resource functions and initiatives for all business locations across the company. This role is responsible for working within the HR team to development, implement and enforce alll HR policies and programs. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry.
Required Experiences:
- Knowledge of compliance and labor laws, state and federal
- Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems
- Excellent attention to detail and time management
- 2-3 years’ experience in recruiting and other human resource functions
- High school diploma or GED equivalent, bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft office and other software programs
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process job requisitions and place job ads on recruiting resources and company website.
- Coordinate with hiring manager(s) to determine best recruiting process for position(s).
- Maintain employee data in information system and ensures initial employment paperwork for all new employees if completed according to state and federal guidelines.
- Screen and interview applicants.
- Coordinate appropriate pre-employment testing.
- Responsible for verification of I-9 forms using E-Verify
- Conduct employment verifications.
- Schedule and conducts orientation of new employees.
- Assist in creating, implementing and tracking apprenticeship programs.
- Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
- Schedule and attend job/career fairs with appropriate staff to generate qualified applicants.
- Follows up with the related clerical aspects of employment, such as completing of employment and insurance forms, notifying the department of employee’s starting date and the requisition the employee is filing, etc.
- Reviews, tracks and documents compliance with mandatory/non- mandatory training, continued education, safety/work assessments and job specific requirements.
- File documents into appropriate employee files.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
