Sertoma is currently seeking a Full-Time Quality Assurance Assistance for our Quality Assurance Department.

This position will be Full-Time, Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm. Pay: $15.37 per hour.
Quality Assurance Assistant Job Summary:
The Quality Assurance Assistant will report directly to the Quality Assurance Manager in an agency that serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Candidates with experience in either quality assurance, medical records, Department of Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (DIDD) and/or Employment and Community First (ECF) services, or similar background will be given priority consideration. This position will be tasked with keeping records organized and up to date, performing self-assessment activities, aiding in external review processes, conducting and participating in quality assurance trainings, generating monthly reports, and completing all work in a timely manner. This position will work with the Quality Assurance team, as well as all other departments at the Center and will cross train to know and understand a variety of peripheral roles as well.
Quality Assurance Assistant Relationships:
· REPORTS TO: Quality Assurance Manager
· SUPERVISES: No one
· WORKS WITH: Quality Assurance Manager; Administrative Staff; Case Management, Clinic, Day, Employment & Community First and Residential Program Staff
· EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS: Record monitors and surveyors from various outside entities; Independent Case Managers, Independent Support Coordinators and Support Coordinators; legal representatives and authorized family members/natural supports of persons supported
Quality Assurance Assistant Qualifications / Skills:
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Prior experience in quality assurance, medical records, or similar background highly preferred.
· Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic familiarity with common medical terminology preferred.
· Experience in programs for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred.
· Capable of handling certain physical aspects such as prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing and/or walking, and examining objects at high and low reach.
· Moderate physical strength; must be able to lift fifteen pounds at times.
Quality Assurance Assistant Employment Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree preferred
· Valid Tennessee driver's license and good driving record.
· Around 5 years of verifiable work history
Quality Assurance Assistant Responsibilities:
1. Maintain familiarity with relevant governing regulations.
2. Receive, prioritize, organize, process, save, file, distribute and maintain electronic and paper person supported records in a timely fashion with meticulous attention to detail.
3. Follow up on incomplete documents with other departments until resolved.
4. Assist in records room and person supported paper records binders & hanging files organization and upkeep.
5. Assist with person supported records archival storage and secure disposal as assigned.
6. Update, distribute, track receipt & review for completeness and accurately input data from various internal surveys into Excel for analysis and trending.
7. Assist in external review processes by compiling and transmitting records as assigned with meticulous attention to detail.
8. Assist in self-assessment activities for Basic Assurances, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Council on Quality Leadership (CQL), Department of Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (DIDD), Employment and Community First (ECF), Fiscal Audit Reviews (FAR), Home & Community Based Services (HCBS), Licensure, Managed Care Organization (MCO), TennCare, etc.
9. Assist in records management and quality assurance training as assigned.
10. Generate monthly reports and retrieve missing and incomplete information.
11. Ability to work independently at and prioritize multiple tasks, allocate time efficiently and handle frequent interruptions.
12. Ability to create and maintain a satisfactory working relationship across multiple departments.
13. Participate in Quality Improvement Committee and other committee meetings as assigned.
14. Contribute to the Quality Assurance processes on an ongoing basis as assigned.
15. Contribute to the "effort" of the Center itself by continually being alert to new concepts which could improve or enhance either your job individually or the collective functions of the Center.
16. Adhere to an acceptable level of professionalism to ensure the maintenance of confidentiality and discretion necessary in the maintenance of person supported records.
17. Always seek to achieve a higher level of productivity both personally and for the Center and the Quality Assurance Assistant position in particular.
18. Observe all Center routine with regard to work schedules, presence during working hours which conform to those of the Center, designated periods of break time, lunch hour, etc.
19. Perform all work assignments and activities necessary to the professional operations of the Quality Assurance Assistant position in an acceptable manner so as to require minimal supervision from the Quality Assurance Manager in performance of the normal established routine.
20. Other duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager or any member of senior leadership.
