Duties And Responsibilities
- Loan Accounting:
- Oversee the accounting for all loan transactions.
- Ensure accurate recording and reconciliation of loan accounts in the general ledger.
- Prepare and review loan-related financial statements and reports.
- Financial Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and regulatory requirements.
- Provide detailed analysis and explanations of loan-related financial data.
- Internal Controls:
- Develop and maintain internal controls related to loan accounting processes.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaboration and Support:
- Work closely with the Assistant Controller and other finance team members.
- Provide support and guidance to loan officers and other departments regarding loan accounting matters.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives as needed.
Skills:
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting.
- Experience in bank accounting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field required.
