Summary
We are an e-commerce company specializing in the sale of new and refurbished server hardware, specifically storage components (Hard drives and SSDs) and systems (JBODs, JBOFs other SAN components). As such, we have a variety of needs when it comes to validating product and ensuring quality is transferred to the customer. Therefore, we have a variety of workflows ranging from proprietary software to off-the-shelf solutions. We are looking for an IT Specialist who can not only assist with IT-related office tasks but also build out a robust regime of processes to verify the quality of incoming product. This individual will play a key role in helping us process hardware and provide actionable insights to improve our processes and support business growth along with their own.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough testing of Enterprise hardware components and systems to ensure functionality and performance, such as with HDDs, SSDs, JBODs, and more.
- Track testing progress of large purchase orders of enterprise hardware and generate reports for cross-team collaboration.
- Utilize various testing tools and methodologies to execute test cases effectively.
- Assist in the development of automated testing scripts where applicable.
- Participate in troubleshooting efforts for any identified defects or issues.
- Manage Tier 1 and Tier 2 office IT issues, including routine desktop troubleshooting and hardware/software setup.
- Keep up to date documentation of testing processes and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant experience/existing knowledge in related field required.
- Experience in enterprise computing hardware and testing of the same is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with scripting languages such as Bash or Python is a plus.
- Expertise in Google Sheets / Excel formulas and data manipulation.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment, stand for long periods of time, and lift up to 40 lbs.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
