Drywall Install Apprentice

We have an immediate need for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Drywall/Stucco Apprentice. The successful candidate must be able to work efficiently with great attention to detail, be willing to learn, be organized and able to perform in a fast-paced environment. This is an hourly, nonexempt, at-will position. Must be available to work full shifts plus overtime.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist Drywallers with duties such as taping, spotting, pointing, filling, finishing, and sanding joints, and angles
• Assist with applying material to ceilings or interior walls of buildings
• Assist with repair of drywall and paint as needed
• Aptitude in using tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.)
• Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders etc.
• Assist with stucco removal and patching
• Assist with drywall removal and patching
• Demo work

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

• Able to pass standard background check and drug screen
• Ability to work with high degree of integrity and promote positive company image
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings, or other structures
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools to inspect and repair
• Ability to demonstrate punctuality
• Conscientious with great attention to detail
• Work well under pressure
• Self-motivated, punctual, and able to work independently.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT

• The principal duties of this position are performed in a variety of environments, including customer homes and outdoors
• Required to work in outside weather conditions, including heat, cold, and temperature swings, for extended periods of time.
• Experiences frequent interruptions; required to meet inflexible deadlines; requires concentration and attention to detail; requires a high level of organizational and prioritization skills.
• Standing up to 8 hours per day; Walking up to 8 hours per day.
• Occasional heavy manual labor to include lifting and carrying up to 50-75 pounds.
• Regular and repetitive grasping, gripping, reaching, bending, stooping, crouching, climbing, squatting, kneeling, and working overhead.
• Frequently works in closed or cramped spaces
• Once hired, all employees must maintain a well-groomed appearance
