Purpose
The team lead position assists the manager in making work assignments and guiding other staff members in achieving organizational goals and objectives.
Core Responsibilities
- This includes assigning team members work tasks, providing clear instructions, directing work, monitoring performance, and offering constructive feedback and coaching.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and recognizing individual contributions.
- Identify and address team member concerns: Listen to their concerns and offer support, resolution or escalate issues to management as needed.
Operational Efficiency and Quality Control
- Ensure employee adherence state cannabis compliance regulations.
- Monitor equipment and supplies: Identify and report any issues with equipment or low inventory levels to ensure smooth operations.
- Resolve quality issues and complaints: Address concerns efficiently and politely, aiming for a positive resolution.
Training and Development
- Train new team members on procedures and standards: Guide them through tasks, answer questions, and help them adapt to the fast-paced environment.
- Provide ongoing coaching and feedback: Help team members improve their skills and knowledge through constructive feedback and coaching opportunities.
- Identify potential for advancement: Recognize and recommend crew members with potential for leadership roles or promotions.
- Provide input to management regarding performance issues and recommend counseling when needed.
Administrative Tasks
- Complete paperwork and reports: Maintain accurate records of sales, inventory, and other relevant data ensuring compliance with state regulations and company policies.
- Handle opening and closing procedures, ensuring everything is set up and cleaned properly.
Additional Responsibilities
- May interact with customers directly: Taking orders, resolving complaints.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and safe environment: Participating in cleaning tasks and safety regulations are followed.
- Stay up to date on company policies and procedures: Adapting to new initiatives and ensuring the team adheres to relevant guidelines.
- Participate and recommend new work procedures and policies with management to improve productivity, quality and customer service.
- Ensure team members are familiar with specials and promotions.
- Educate customers and team on new product offerings and help drive sales.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years prior retail experience
- Prior experience and competency with point-of-sale software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Prior training and supervision a plus
- Must be 21 years of age and able pass state requirements for working in cannabis operations.

Supervisory
This position will make work assignments, but will not have direct authority for hiring, firing, promoting employees.
Work Environment
Position operates in a professional retail store environment. Position routinely has to use standard office equipment such as computers and phones.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly expected to talk and listen. Position requires standing, walking, use of hands, reaching and the ability to lift a maximum of 40 pounds. Ability to climb ladders to reach product on higher shelves.
Position Type and Hours of Work
This position can be either full or part time depending on the specific needs of the store. Position hours are variable and based upon the hours of the store operation and business conditions. Weekend work is part of the position.
Travel
This position does not require travel.
