Service Metal is a rapidly growing, nationwide Master Distributor of industrial pipe fittings, flanges, and valves. We are hiring a Warehouse Manager to join our growing company and be an integral part of our warehouse in Houston, Texas.
Service Metal's Houston warehouse is 143,000 square feet, has over 12,000 individual bin locations.

JOB SUMMARY:
This is a full-time, in-office, salaried position, with daily attendance required at our Houston Warehouse.
The Warehouse Managers directly supervise the daily operations of the warehouse while servicing internal and external customers. The Manager will have a strong team to assist them consisting of Co-Managers, Lead Warehouse Associated, a Logistics Coordinator, and a team of Warehouse Associates.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the safety, quality, delivery, productivity, inventory Management, and overall maintenance of the warehouse facilities.
- Drives employee engagement through effective communication that inspires those around them to maximize their potential.
- Effectively plans labor in anticipation of order demand changes and quickly reacts to staffing needs.
- Effectively manages a team of employees to accomplish company goals.
- Forecasts warehouse space needs and optimizes existing footprint.
- Oversees cost control of warehouse facilities.
- Ensures compliance with OSHA and other applicable standards.
- Ensures Key Performance Metrics are achieved consistently.
- Approves indirect materials and service vendor invoices.
- Oversees inventory control processes and implements improvements.
- Works to investigate errors, customer complaints, equipment issues and develops, implements, and monitors corrective actions.
- Mentor employees and help define career paths and objectives.
- Other tasks as directed to meet company objective.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree preferred, not required. We value real world experience.
- 2-3 years Manager level experience in a warehouse/distribution environment with strong understanding of both outbound and inbound operations.
- Team player with proven results in meeting/exceeding team-based performance goals based on safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and inventory management.
- Strong understanding of ERP and WMS systems
- Clear communication, both written and verbal.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products
- Desire to lead a team and have direct involvement with senior leadership to meet company goals.

This is a full-time salaried position and Service Metal wants to compensate you for your hard work and experience. We value your input on our team.
